Manufacturer Description

This is a Trumpeter 1/700 scale assembly and painting required plastic model kit of the USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71), the forth Nimitz-class supercarrier to be commissioned by the United States Navy. Model kit features: Optional full or waterline hull, display stand, transparent bridge windows, flight and hangar decks, detailed superstructure and hangar, flight deck equipment, brass wire, photo-etch parts (antennae and transom rack) and vacuform 'water texture' base. Also includes clear-molded EA-6B (x4), F-14D (x9 swept wing and x9 wings forward), E-2C (x2), S-3B (x4) and SH-60F (x1 rotors extended and x1 rotors stowed) aircraft. Decals for airwing, deck, hull and ensigns. 714 parts. ABOUT THE CVN-71: Commissioned on October 25, 1986, CVN-71 was named after the beloved former president Theodore "Teddy" Roosevelt, and she was given the call-sign "Rough Rider" after President Roosevelt's cavalry unit during the Spanish-American War. The USS Theodore Roosevelt is also affectionately called the "TR" or as the "Big-Stick", referencing a famous quote by the great former president, "Speak softly and carry a big stick, and you will go far." USS Theodore Roosevelt saw combat action in the 1991 Gulf War, and during Operation Desert Storm, she launched over 4,200 sorties, more than any other carriers that participated in the war.
