On June 6, 2004, The Museum of Flight opened the Personal Courage Wing with two new major exhibits - World War One Fighters and World War Two Fighters. These two exhibits feature 18 fighter aircraft from World War One, and 10 fighter aircraft from World War Two. These new exhibits not only showcase the aircraft in stunning displays, but tell stories of heroism, determination, innovation and sacrifice of the men and women who designed, built and flew them.To help visitors understand the broader context of the two world wars, the Museum produced six short programs with Emmy-award winning director David Hoffman. Three programs were created for each gallery to give a broad overview of the wars and their consequences, and the history and development of aviation during these periods. These films, acclaimed for the strength of their content, are an emotional journey into the past. Some material in these programs may not be appropriate for younger or more sensitive viewers.1.
