A multirole combat aircraft, the Grumman F-14 Tomcat was introduced in the U.S. Navy in 1974. It was the first of the teen-fighter series, developed using expertise gained from dogfights with Soviet MiGs during the Vietnam War. Though it remains in service in Iran, it was retired from active U.S. duty in 2006, replaced by the F/A-18E Super Hornet. The "A" variant was flown by the Navy and remains in service in Iran. Made by Hobby Master, this 1/72 scale, die cast model #8212 a camouflage-clad replica of an F-14A in service with the Iranian Air Force as it appeared in 2014 #8212 features engraved panel lines, a sliding canopy, a well-equipped cockpit including panel instrumentation, removable crew figures, full weapons complement, detailed afterburning turbofans, optional-position landing gear, authentic markings, and a stylish presentation stand.
